Font Licensing Information
Every font on Typegrid is distributed under an open-source license — most commonly the SIL Open Font License (OFL), with some fonts under the Apache License 2.0 or the Ubuntu Font License (UFL). Each font's individual page links to the exact license text that applies to it.
What these licenses generally allow
In general, OFL and Apache-licensed fonts can be used freely in personal and commercial projects, embedded on websites, and bundled into applications, without paying royalties. That said, license terms vary in their details — for example, some licenses restrict selling the font file on its own, or require reserved font names to remain unchanged in derivative works.
Always check the source
We do not alter or reinterpret license terms. For any use case with legal implications, read the full license text linked from the specific font's page rather than relying on our summary alone.
Downloads
Where we make font files available for download, that download is only offered for fonts whose license permits redistribution. Fonts without redistribution rights link to the official Google Fonts page instead.
